Outpatient & Inpatient

The Outpatient and Inpatient Department is located within the main building of St. Theresa Healthcare Services. The department provides timely, high-quality general and specialist medical services, available by appointment and through insurance. Services operate 24 hours a day, including public holidays, ensuring continuous access to care.

The centre serves insurance and corporate clients alongside the general public. The clinic comprises a general reception area, one adult consultation room, one paediatric consultation room, a triage area, two treatment rooms, a cash office, a pharmacy, and an area manager’s office. It delivers efficient, patient-centred care through professional diagnosis, management, and treatment of medical, surgical, gynaecological, and obstetric conditions for both adults and children within a one-stop facility.

Services offered include: Doctor consultations, Laboratory services, Emergency care, Nutritional counselling, Ultrasound scanning, and a well-stocked pharmacy, Pre-school and institutional medical check-ups

The department also runs a wellness clinic, where clients are assessed, potential health risks are identified early, and preventive care is provided to reduce the likelihood of more serious health conditions.

Pharmacy

Our pharmacy is integrated into patient care, involving selection, prescription, procurement, delivery, administration, and review of medication.

Services include:

  • Dispensing of medications
  • Health education on medication use
  • Medication counseling
  • Availability of essential medicines

Community Engagement

At St Theresa, we believe that healthcare is not just about treating illnesses, but also about empowering communities to take charge of their own health and wellbeing. Our robust community engagement program is designed to bridge the gap between our healthcare facility and the community, fostering a culture of health, wellness, and economic empowerment.

Our program includes:

Community Health Card: We offer a unique health card system, where every member of the family is registered and entitled to discounted healthcare services at our facility. This ensures that everyone has access to quality healthcare, regardless of their financial situation.

Women’s Empowerment: We are passionate about empowering women and girls, recognizing their vital role in shaping the health and prosperity of their families and communities. Through our skills development programs, women have acquired new skills and knowledge in: Saving and investment, Soap making, Candle making, Crafts, Mushroom growing, Orchard management, Vegetable growing

Our programs are designed to equip women with the skills and confidence they need to start their own businesses, provide for their families, and break the cycle of poverty.

Community Outreaches: Our team conducts periodic community outreaches in the neighboring villages of Kambe, Nakyerongoosa, Kikugi, Kikubampanga, Naddangira, Mpegwe Nampunge, etc providing health education, screenings, NCD check and general medical advice and giving referrals to those who need them. We believe that healthcare should be accessible to everyone, everywhere.

Partnerships and Collaborations: We work closely with local organizations, community groups, and stakeholders to amplify our impact and reach more people. Our notable partners include National Women’s Council, Center for Community Empowerment Initiatives (CEI) Another Hope Child Ministries and Rotary Clubs of Lubowa and Namasuba.

The impact of our community engagement program has been remarkable. Over 400 women have benefited from our skills development programs, enabling some to start their own businesses and improve their livelihoods. The have observed improved health outcomes, with reduced rates of maternal and child mortality, and increased access to healthcare services.

Farm

Our passion for community health and economic empowerment led us to establish a model farm to inspire our clients to undertake productive farming on small land holdings. 

Our farm includes:

  • Dairy farm
  • Piggery farm
  • Banana plantation
  • Vegetable garden
  • Poultry project

Community groups visit it and get lessons on how to replicate this in their own homes.

Midwifery

Our maternity offers friendly, compassionate, comfortable, and caring services that include:

  • Health education talks
  • Scan services
  • Normal delivery services
  • Family planning (pills, condoms, DMPA injection, IUD insertion, natural family planning)
  • Maternal care (maternity package, pregnancy test, prenatal checkup, postnatal checkup)
  • Child care (newborn screening, newborn care, cord dressing, immunization)
  • Growth monitoring and promotion
  • Nutrition counseling
